“The Filipinos of Koloa,” released in May 2017, had its beginnings in July 1985, initially written in conjunction with the Koloa Plantation Sesquicentennial Celebration.

Updated, it highlights Filipino participation in the Koloa Plantation experience from 1910 to 1996, and spotlights some achievements of the descendants of the Sakadas — Filipino contract laborers.

The book also includes the history of Koloa Plantation, the major ethnic groups who made Koloa Plantation a success story, the Koloa Plantation camps — especially New Mill Camp — life in plantation days and details of the Koloa Plantation Sesquicentennial Celebration, including pictures of the first Koloa Plantation Days Parade on July 27, 1985 — 32 years ago.
