A car thief from Oregon was so hallucinated from LSD, he thought that he was living a real-life video game.

Twenty-three-year-old Anthony J. Clark was arrested for stealing a car, with which he started a 40-mile cop chase across Jackson County on Saturday night, June 2, as reported by The Oregonian.

Clark first got off a pickup truck nearby, then got inside another car that was about to be towed by police officers. A deputy stated in an affidavit that Clark even walked up to him and informed him that he was going to steal the vehicle.

The deputy attempted to stop Clark by grabbing hold of his shirt. The suspect then accelerated away, nearly dragging the deputy and hitting the pickup truck.

He sped through Ashland, Talent and Phoenix while police chased him. The report stated that while the chase went on, Clark drove down the wrong way on several roads, crashed through chain links fences off the roadway and ran over spike strips twice.

After several attempts, a patrol car managed to bump his rear. This caused Clark’s vehicle to spin out.

The suspect tried to hit a police car, then fled away from the vehicle he stole. Clark fled to a mobile home, until police finally caught him as he tried to steal another car.

Upon arrest, Clark admitted to authorities that he was under the influence of LSD when the chase happened. He also said he thought he was living out the video game “Grand Theft Auto”.

Several charges have already been filed against Clark, such as second-degree criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving under the influence of intoxicants, among others.
